A warm welcome to this wonderful city of ours
I am proud of this City that I have helped create. I feel very privileged and humbled to have been able to do so, but without the people of Wellington, you, this could not have happened. I am seeking your endorsement again. I am standing as an independent for One Wellington - one Wellington like no other, one City united in its pride and determination, and what else but the number one city -not only in New Zealand, but in the world. We have something very special here, and we need a leader for it.
My Mission
"To share my passion for this City with others, to open doors and to allow everyone to experience it."
My Mayoralty
Five Paramount Priorities
These are my priorities. I will fight hard for them.
-
Leadership
I will take Wellington to the nation and the world and bring
great colour to our City.
This mayoral election is about leadership and two quite different styles. I believe the mayor must be inclusive, independent, open and fair. The current administration has failed to deliver on these "must-have" qualities favouring self-interest and self promotion instead. -
Waterfront
Save the waterfront with your vote.
This mayoral election is your last battle for the waterfront - for your waterfront. It is your last chance to influence its direction through your vote before it is covered in construction sites and buildings.
Your vote can save the waterfront. -
Open,Honest and Fair Government: Accountability
No Secret Backers
Over the last two elections, Kerry Prendergast has refused to disclose her "anonymous" backers, or the source of her election funds. We need to know who is backing the mayor. I am challenging all mayoral candidates to come clean about their “anonymous” backers. -
Health
This mayoral election is also about the health of our City and our people.
The health of the City and the health of the people cannot be separated; that's why I am standing for both the Mayoralty and the Health Board.
Health is paramount. -
Environment
Sustainability - Climate Change and Carbon Neutrality
It's great that the Council as a whole has adopted a positive approach to these fundamental issues of the sustainability of our City and our planet.
Environmental issues are not new to me. For years, from the outset of my life as a City Councillor, and long before it was fashionable, I have advocated changes to support a sustainable environment.
While this has the support of all councillors, it will require strong, committed and determined leadership.
We are all guardians .
It's Your Choice
I have long been passionate about Wellington, social justice and the environment.
This is your city, your and your children's and grandchildren's future.
Kerry Prendergast has different priorities and a different way of leading.
It's your chance and your choice.
It is time for a change at City Hall
